Who Are We?

Amateur Radio operators are your friends, neighbors and relatives – movie stars, missionaries, doctors, students, politicians, truck drivers and regular people. Operators come from varied backgrounds, and span all ages, sexes and income levels – linked by their interest in wireless communication technologies. There are more licensed American Amateur Radio operators now than ever before in history.

In June 2022, the FCC reported more than 775,000 active Amateur Radio licenses in the United States, representing only a portion of the estimated 3 million operators worldwide.
